Day 1: Arrive in Kunming

Today's Highlights:

Airport Pickup; Bamboo Monastery

Details:

Kunming is the capital of Yunnan province, and due to its warm weather for the whole year, it has a nick name of 'the City of Eternal Spring'. Guide will pick you up at the Kunming airport and transfer to the hotel.

If time enough, we will have a visit to Bamboo Monastery, which is first built in Tang Dynasty (618-907AD). It is the most famous of Kunming's temples, and was rebuilt in the Guangxu Era. (1833-1890BC). Overnight in Kunming.

Tips:

1. Kunming is located at the high altitude, due to the heavy sunshine, the sunglasses and sunblock are necessary to bring; 2. The temperature here varies a lot between day and night, keeping warm in night is important; 3. Many minorities live toghether in Yunnan, when travelling here, please respect their culture and protect the environment.

Day 2: Kunming-Stone Forest-Xishuangbanna

Stone Forest; Flight to Xishuangbanna

Details:

In the morning, drive 90km to Stone Forest. There is a saying "it is a waste of time without being in Stone Forest while visiting Kunming". It is the most remarkable nature phenomena, which is consisting of innumerable bizarre shaped ancient limestone cliffs and peaks created by wind and water erosion some 270 million year ago.

In the afternoon, drive back to Kunming and take the flight to Xishuangbanna. Xishuangbanna is the only tropical rainforest nature reserve zone in China, famous for its mysterious tropical rainforests and minority customs. Overnight in Xishuangbanna.

Tips:

Xishuangbanna is a hot tour destination in China, it's better to book the flight tickets in advance.

Day 3: Xishuangbanna sightseeing

Today's Highlights:

Ganlanba Bazaar; Manting Parks; Tropical Plants

Details:

Today we will visit Ganlanba bazaar, known as "the Plume of the Peacock", with green trees all the year round and bamboo houses scattered around, the place is very attractive. Then we will have a visit of Manting Park and the Arboretum of Tropical Plants. Overnight in Xishuangbanna.

Tips:

1. Xishuangbanna is a minority gathering area, please respect their culture; 2. The temperature varies a lot from day to night, bring enough clothes to keep warm; 3. When entering the temples or Dai's bamboo houses, please take off your shoes; 4. Do not touch the monk's head; 5. Do not peek into the host's room.

Day 4: Xishuangbanna-Kunming

Today's Highlights:

Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion; Tropical Rain Forest Park

Details:

Visit the the Jingzhen Octagonal pavilion and the tropical Rain Forest Park, Then fly back to Kunming. Overnight in Kunming.

Day 5: Leave Kunming

Today's Highlights:

Tour ends; Take Flight to Next Destination
