More Attractive Tibet in Winter with Cheaper Tibet Tour Price
TIBET in winter is even more attractive than in summer, so more tourists should visit the region in winter, according to a leading official of the TTB-Tibet Tourism Bureau.
Wang Songping, deputy director of the bureau, said that Tibet's unique geographical conditions lead to the assumption that only summer is the best season for tourism, thus a host of tourists choose to visit Tibet during the May- October period.
Nyingchi is always regarded as the best choice for winter tours in Tibet. It is neigher too hot in summer nor too cold in winter. The area boasts many world-class scenic spots such as the grand Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon, Mt. Namjagbarwa, the iceberg cluster in Bome, Basum Tso Lake, and the forests of Kulgling. Besides, many folk festivals are held in wintertime, which makes Nyingchi more attractive for tourists.
Last winter Nyingchi Prefecture received 24,000 domestic and foreign tourists. In January this year alone, the number of visitors to the prefecture soared by 146.8 percent from the same month last year.
