New Chongsaikang Market to Open in November
THE new Chongsaikang Market in downtown Lhasa, capital city of Tibet, is set to open in November following the completion of its renovation at the end of this month.
The market will cover an area of 4,074 sq m with a floor space of 8,148 sq m. There will be 982 stalls run by 1,964 business people. The market will be divided into eleven sections to handle more than 10,000 kinds of commodities including clothing, silk and satin, electrical appliances, fruits, vegetables, arts and crafts, dairy and meat products.
The exterior look of the renovated market will incorporate ethnic characteristics and the modern architectural style.
