LHASA, capital city of Tibet, ranks 1st in Tibet in terms of the number of culture relics, according to the Lhasa City Culture Bureau. The result came after the third national survey of cultural relics was completed in Lhasa, whose cultural relics surveyed are four times in previous two surveys.
An official of the bureau said, "The survey began in July 2008 and ended earlier this month, covering an area of 29,000 sq km."
The survey covered 888 cultural relics sites, including 205 ancient historic sites, 170 ancient tombs, 98 grottoes and stone sculptures, and 82 modern architectures.
