Itinerary: 11 Days Classic Tour Kashgar-Urumqi-Xi'an
Hi Fiona
Just wanted to let you know I’m home …. A little exhausted from the train trip from Dunhuang but wanted to follow up with you re the journey. I have really enjoyed the journey along the silk road. Working in the travel industry I wanted to give you some feedback on what I would do differently next time. I will be letting my friends know about the trip for future reference and hopefully some contacts.
Kashgar
Was amazing. It was just as I expected it to be and certainly the highlight for me for the full trip. Hassan, the guide, was very professional had great English and was very polite. I would highly recommend to my friends the time in Kashgar and travelling with Hassan – he really made the trip for me and I
Urumqi / Turpan
Hmmm. I didn’t like the guide. He was certainly friendly and had good knowledge but his English wasn’t very good and to be honest I couldn’t understand what he was saying some of the time. I didn’t feel he communicated what was going on very well either. I’m not sure how experienced he was but I would request a guide with better english and more experience for any recommendations I send through to you.
I wouldn’t do Bezelek, Gaochang and the Astana Graves. I think they were a waste of time. I did enjoy wandering around Turpan and I introduced Fei to the bike riding in Turpan so we grabbed a couple of bikes and went riding for an hour – it’s so nice to get out & about rather than being in a car the whole time. It could be a good option to get out to the Emin Minaret if the weather isn’t too hot – an early morning ride would be great.
In saying that he & Shifu Liu went out of their way to make sure I made the train to Dunhuang by driving me to Shan Shan. I REALLY appreciated the effort in doing that.
Dunhuang
Again - amazing. After an eventful time in getting here it was certainly worth the trip just for the visit to Mogao Grottoes. They are AMAZING. I would suggest that Crescent Lake / sand dunes are a waste of time. We went there for an hour but if you’ve done sand duning, camels etc before it would be best to just get out of Dunhuang on to the next part of the journey if possible.
Xian
By this time I was tired. Angie was a good guide with good English, the vehicle clean and comfortable. Xian wasn’t one of the highlights for me for this journey and I probably would have ended in Dunhuang in future.
So, thanks again for your service. You have been the ultimate professional throughout and followed me up and answered my silly questions along the way. Thank you for your attention and as I indicated above I will certainly recommending your services to my friends who are thinking of travelling to this part of the world.
Thanks
Tracey

What Our Customer Say
"Mt. Everest is our favorite travel destination. This is a very interesting and impressive tour overall. Tibet is a very nice country and Tibetans mainly nice and warmhearted people. Too many beggers anyway especially local people at countryside asking money when visit the public toilet... not good for the image of Tibetan people."
